New Version: Bonus Research Reloaded



This tiny mod adds global technology sharing, for extra immersion, realism and historical accuracy.

This mod does exactly what it says on the tin: A global technology sharing group.

The idea behind it is that certain technologies simply become more and more common around the globe, similar on how the Neighbour Bonus in EU4 works. This of course helps minors way more than major nations. Especially things such as the planes; just because you couldn't invest time into researching close air support planes, does not mean that CAS is some magical alien technology in 1944 that needs to be researched from scratch; your scientists should have probably developed a general understanding on how CAS planes work by 1944 simply by reading the news of WW2.
Each nation that has researched a technology gives a -1% bonus, up to the usual -50% if over 50 other nations have researched it.
There is one unintended side-effect; you can see exactly which other nations have researched a certain technology. I personally would prefer if there'd be a way to hide this. This side-effect can be seen as positive or negative.
The con for this is that, well: You have perfect knowledge of every technology every other nation researched, so everyone can see that you have e.g. Panthers even before a single one is engaged in combat. The pro is: You know every technology other nations have researched, giving you a good idea where you are in relation to other nations and this could somewhat be explained by your intelligence service actually doing their job.

Is it balanced? Eh, no clue, don't care. Yes? Maybe?

Requires Together For Victory

While technically compatible with everything and anything, it only messes up the num_tech_sharing_groups, which in vanilla only the tech share continues focus uses. However maybe some other mods might also use that check (can't think of any though). I might create a fix for the vanilla tech share continues focus in the future. But for now, I feel this mod sorta makes that continues focus a tiny bit redundant (I never used it myself ever anyways)
This mod works well with Isenreik Sanguinem Et Lacrimas.

A longt-term plan for this mod is to encompass more global changes; maybe have the olympic games actually mean something, or include disasters.
