-------------Important Info-------------

After six months, I am proud to release Storm of Chaos It replaces the Eye-for-an-Eye Beastmen mini-campaign with an entirely new mini-campaign based off of the Storm of Chaos campaign in the Warhammer fantasy universe. Not everything is perfectly atuned to lore but I had to make concessions when necessary to actually get the dang thing done!

There are four playable factions currently (Empire, Cult of Sigmar, Cult of Ulric, Middenland) and Beastmen are NOT playable at the moment. Once CA fixes the problem mentioned above, I will be able to add Chaos and Beastmen to the campaign and enable both a coop version and a head-to-head version of the campaign. These are for the most part done, but I didn't add them before Bretonnia, so I can't do so at this point.

Note that this is in Alpha, so there will be bugs, although I have spent many hours trying to get rid of them. Any comments addressing these bugs that I have not yet noticed are welcome and very much appreciated. There are a few bugs that I know exist, that I have also spent many hours tearing my hair out about, including the duplicate technology tree. I will also be updating this mod very often as these bugs are found and solved, and as I add more content.

I hope to be expanding this out as much as I can, with campaigns as Grimgor, Snagla Grobspit, and Ungrim Ironfist (technically not fighting here but as I said, concessions). The Chaos campaign will have many unique missions and quests.

I am not sure what mods this is compatible with. I have tried to keep it as compatible as possible, but it is impossible to be compatible with everything. There will be no compatibility versions of this mod because I have tried everything to trim it down. As for DLC, I know it requires Beastmen because of the map, but I do not know if it requires other DLC or just locks those factions from being playable. For those that do not have either Grim & Grave or Chaos Warriors I would appreciate it if you could tell me if the mod works so that I can add those DLC as requirements.

Many parts of this mod require you to turn subtitles on! Turn it on in the Options menu.

-------------Content-------------

This mod adds 3 playable factions, 2 new Legendary Lords, 2 heroes, 2 Legendary heroes, (all with custom skill trees), 4 new quest battles each with a custom battle map, 3 technology trees, 7 buildings, over 50 units, and 1 custom campaign.

In the campaign, you have a few turns to build your armies as quickly as you can. You have the proper infrastructure in place, but some key buildings have not been constructed. By turn 15 hordes of Chaos already start appearing on the map in massive numbers and wreak havoc on the AI factions. Waves slowly pour in until Archaon finally arrives!

There are many missions and dilemmas that help you form alliances with the other human factions, but some dilemmas cause war if you choose incorrectly. If you help fight the Chaos Warriors by sending armies out you are rewarded by an Errantry War with King Louen, Ungrim Ironfist with a slayer army, and a Kislevite army.

The Cult of Ulric faction is focused on quick melee engagements and high damage charges. They are not super mobile, but have the capabilities to reduce enemy mobility. Their support units offer physical protection, leadership buffs, and charge speed. They are not unlike the Suebi in Rome 2 in playstyle.

The Cut of Sigmar faction has no magic, and use Sigmarite wards to protect the lower tier troops. The infantry is mainly used as distraction as the key units destroy enemy leadership and morale. They have access to an assortment of knightly orders that keep this faction deadly in the late game.

Luthor Huss and Valten, two Legendary Heroes for the Cult of Sigmar (which are not immortal, thanks Skaven), have very powerful skill trees and increase in effectiveness very quickly. They also have useful battlefield abilities and are great duelists.

Boris Todbringer and Emil Valgeir are the two new Legendary Lords, and they each have two quest battles. These do begin on the campaign map, but march or teleport to the location of the battlefield, they do not go into the quest battle itself. I am 90% sure this is because the factions that partake in the quest battle are not in the campaign, which I am unable to change because the Assembly Kit is broken for the beastmen campaign. However, you can still play the battles in the quest battle menu.

The four quest battles each come with a custom battle map, available in the custom battle menu, and they include battle speeches (no sound, just subtitles) and unique additions such as extra lose conditions and the inability for routing units to move. These quest battles are a notch in difficulty above the vanilla ones, just so they have a bit more replayability as well as the fact that they don't need to be nerfed so it's impossible to lose in a campaign battle.

The Chaos Warriors receive many new units, most of the models in thanks to Daemon Spider and the Chaos Undivided mod. These are not meant to complete the Chaos roster, only to give each of the four Chaos Gods a little flavor in the campaign. Once I am able to edit the startpos again, I will make this clearer in the campaign by giving each of the four chaos gods a different banner. I stuck the the army book for the Storm of Chaos for the most part.

I have also strived to balance these units and effects to the best of my ability. The stat system this game uses is extremely obfuscated so this took quite a bit of tinkering. Hopefully nothing is too overpowered or underpowered.

Many thanks to these wonderful modders who were happy to share their work with me. There were also others who were willing to share as well, but I didn't end up including it. This community is very friendly and for any who asks, you are welcome to use this in your own mods (just don't repost the whole thing! :D) although I doubt the work itself can be used elsewhere (although the ideas might!). I am very bad at model editing, so the great work of these people is a saving grace. At the same time, I was forced to make the faces for the custom heroes and lords, and if someone could please fix my horrible attempts, that would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

It hasn't worked for well over a year...It would be really great if it could be updated as it was a fantastic mod and a really great campaign I'd love to finish one day...

Do I need to download something other than the mod itself? It is not working and I am not using other mods. It crashes when you run the game.
