Hm...You actually gave me an idea for a new item similar to that.

You could change the claw to a spear head or a blade or weapon instead, stopping at rocks and piercing enemies and with brimstone has a brimstone versione where the chain would be brimstone and damaging

That's an interesting thought. But I don't know whether it would translate to enjoyable gameplay.

Since it would replace your tears or at least be fired along with them it would be a primary source of damage and you would have to use it all the time.
Because of that you would probably hit rocks/walls on accident quite frequently, pulling yourself across the room and potentially taking unnecessary damage.

I will look into it though. Maybe I can applay the idea to a different item one day.

Can you make a passive item that does the same thing but charges like moms knife, with the various ranges depending on the charge?

It's called clawshot in the original game, but I wanted to keep the Isaac theme of calling things *kinda* what they are called originally.
Also I never played Antibirth, so I don't know if they have anything mechanicly similar or even identical there.

So it's like a long range Mom's Bracelet from Antibirth?
