First, a criticism: A message appeared in the Objectives saying to build a market, Town Center, and four houses, but once I discover the western village ruins, that Objective about building 4 houses disappears. It's probably a major flaw because you probably still need to buid them but you might not realize it. For instance, I forgot that I needed to make a Town Center.
Second, something that was neat: The exploration feature for the icey land of Greenland. the Lonely old man in the north has his health degrade slowly when in the snow, so that you can explore but there are a ton of predators in the snow. When you find him, you can sail across the Sea of Worms. You can fight the wolves by having Erik take out most of their health and then sending in archers to help, and then let Erik regenerate in a Town Center.
3. British Islands
Chronology (cf. 2.); trade; cavalry…
4. France
Nice map, but the Loire river is too short. There is not enough wood in Britain.
5. Hispania
Why no walls?
6. Mediterranean Sea
Walls? ligh cavalry?
I criticized much, but I have to say: it was nice and I salute the work that you did! ;-)
1. Unification of the Scandinavian tribes
To begin, Vikings had not tribes, but small kingdoms (OK: it is detail… but I warned: I will point details!) and they were not unified by Swedish people… and they were not really unified.
There is tooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuch penguins! There is quite no fun at all with this. ><
Why is there no trade cart nor trade cog? Vikings were also traders.
Why no cavalry? no spearmen?
Wolves are too strong. It is not very necessary to have so strong ones…
2. Exploring the unknown ocean
Penguins! ><
Greenland’s settling started circa 980 and stood, therefore, after that the Vikings raided and sacked British Islands (3rd scenario).
Cavalry? And there were no wild horses in Markland…
1) Have more resources. Forests and mines get very quickly depleted in all of scenarios. Maybe the mountains in Ireland can be replaced by a lush forest, and in France... there should be a lot of them too!
2) Correct some movement bugs. It seems that individual trees hamper movement sometimes.
3) Have a decent tech tree. Some additions are needed for the swordsmen.
History-wise, it's a very clever retelling of some battles (York and Vinland Saga), very interesting as campaign for the Vikings! Good job on that!
