Just use the original plasma rifle sprites, and scale it to -50% with Nearest Neighbour. And there, you have a better weapon sprite.

The texture could use a lot of work. The pixels don't scale to the rest of the Duck Game spries, making it look extremely out-of-place. Not to mention the pixel art itself looks like you threw something in an image converter.
