THIS VARIANT REQUIRES LONG WAR 2
Released with permission from BlueRaja. If it didn't have that requirement, I'm sure he'd have changed the original.

What is it?
Have you ever lost one of your super-star soldiers, and had to restart because the rest of your barracks was filled with Rookies? Well no longer! This mod gives soldiers in the barracks a small amount of XP after each mission.

How does it work?
In the base game, and in Long War, soldiers gain baseline bonus XP for merely going on a mission and surviving, even if they get no kills.

This mod gives a percentage of that bonus XP (default is 50%) to soldiers in the barracks as well.

Using the Long War framework, this version no longer bloats your soldiers' kill counts!

Rookies gain experience properly this way too, so it'll play nice with things like Use My Class.

Is it configurable?
Yes. Using Mod Config Menu, you can change:
  • What percentage of the bonus XP soldiers in the barracks get
  • ...including a more dramatic divisor, built with the LW experience gain code.
  • Whether units can level up outside of a mission
  • Whether rookies gain bonus XP
  • Whether injured or training soldiers get bonus XP

Classes Overridden (Why do I care?):
None!

At least on the first mission, this mod was making me crash to desktop on completion.

SeqAct_ActivateRemoteEvent_1 failed to find target event: FinishedTransitionToShell

was part of the log file, idk if it will help, but might help others trying to troubleshoot

mod still broken?

This MOD has an issue that makes your troops act like they are injured even though they have not been touched. They NEVER come out of this phase. The MOD is broken.

How can I prevent that sergeants and the following ranks gain XP in the barracks?
Btw idk why but I can't see the edit panel using mod config menu.

does it works with jedi mod? i see here something about properly gaining xp, so it's absolutelly the same way as if they were in a mission?

Mod does work with LW2, but it seems to be the cause of occasional blank status in the soldier list and solders appear injured (head hanging down). I disabled the mod and deleted the affected solders and have not had this problem anymore since.

The patch that presumably came alongside WotC possibly broke it.
If that's the case, there's little I can do for the moment as I don't have the game installed.

I'm not sure if it's this mod, the settings for this mod, an update, or another source, but virtually none of my soldiers are promoting now! Settings are on default, and before this was changed with the WotC version, I consistently promoted solidiers after missions, now after playing 3-4 missions, only my squaddies are promoting...wtf. Going to try the Blue Raja version now.

This requires LW2. If/when that updates, this should hopefully be compatible.
