Spider Goat

描述
Introduces a very friendly but fragile g-modded livestock: the Spidergoat! Produces spidergoat silk, which can be woven into synththread. Can only be bought off traders.

Thanks to spdskatr for helping me with the XML fields! Go check out their mods: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/id/spdskatr/myworkshopfiles/?appid=294100

I would support this, if the author gave permission.

Anyone up to keeping this alive? I want to play with this so bad!

Could you add B18 support? Thanks! ~

This is the only glitter-tech crafting mod that has ever tempted me.

Excellent idea.

sounds like a fun animal to try to raise for synthread but if someone is complaining about the difficulty in keeping them alive or getting more of them, there are easier methods to get synthread from other mods.

Just to continue playing devil's advocate here it seems that simply giving them a long maturation period would keep the abuse to a relative minimum. Someone would have to be serious in their intent to create a synthread farm if they're willing to wait a few years breeding fragile spacegoats to do it.

Maybe. But to take that argument to its logical conclusion - if you didn't want renewable synthread, why on earth would you download a mod that adds a creature that creates synthread?

I honestly think it's OK that spider goats are genderless, it makes them balanced and makes it harder to get OP synthread farms

Seconding the disappointment that they are genderless. The answer to the "You'd only want ones that produce silk" question is easy: yes, sure, unless you want more goats. I mean, it's the same way for cows. You keep a bull around so you can get more cows. Also - is there any chance of an A Dog Said patch for emergency surgery/prosthetics on injured spider goats? With how (intentionally) frail they are that could be very helpful in keeping them healthy!
