it can be 1x4 by default. It's front yard can be expanded, hence 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4.

Yes. However, let me expand. It's the opposite of what you said, vanilla such as this will always be compatible with or without DLCs. For some DLC-required structures will only be compatible to its own DLC.
