1910 VacuuMotive Wooden Ghost

*SIGH* That slogan sounded better in 1910. Anyway, I present a car that drives using only vacuum power! It's entirely vanilla, except I used file editing to allow for both left and right handed driving controls.

• For convenience, the crossbow turns slightly as the wheels turn, which lets you adjust your aim without moving the car.
  
  
• The block count is low enough to drive at 200% game speed.

Cars of this vintage all require special care to keep them running, and the Wooden Ghost is no exception. It's a robust machine for its era, but it's important to avoid driving over or even near debris, since it can get vacuumed into the mechanism and jam it.

After knocking over an Ipsilon-styled building, back up, and coast backward as needed, to get away from debris. You can see an example of this in the demo video, when the Wooden Ghost beats the final Ipsilon zone.

You can knock over the fence in zone 13 by hitting it at speed and coasting over it, being careful not to use the vacuums until you're well past the broken fence. (Although you can beat zone 13 without ever touching the fence if you want.)

Knights don't tend to jam the mechanism too badly, as long as you don't get too many of them in there at once.

Despite the Wooden Ghost's sterling reliability record, it can, on occasion, hesitate to proceed. Simply alternate between forward and reverse as necessary and it'll take you wherever you want to go.



The Wooden Ghost climbs surprisingly well, although it can require more patience than a modern car. It seems best to activate the boost toward the top of the hill, and keep the wheels straight whenever possible. Even when the Wooden Ghost seems to have halted, it will often continue if you stay on the power, even after a long stop.

Other times in seems to help to back up and try again, or carefully time the boost with the car's oscillations. Nothing seems to work consistently, so I'm still experimenting. Turning up the game speed to 200% can help speed the process along.

It's possible, although difficult, to climb the incline in the new sandbox that leads to the tent, and even the incline across from that by the isolated house. It's somewhat easier to climb the two slopes near the ghost knight on the platform.
