PSA: 16 March 2019
This mod is broken, due to changes in subpart physics in SE. As of right now this mod is no longer working. I can't fix it without performance degrading hacks. If/when Keen resolves the issue, I'll fix this.

Summary
All turrets now have custom, dynamic collision models.

No more are the collision models for turrets fixed and ugly. Now the collision models hug the model, and move with it. As they should!

Pros: Now the turrets are harder to hit.
Cons: Now the turrets are harder to hit.

Notes
If other ships or blocks will be in close proximity, particularly to the small ship ones, I recommend disabling 'Idle Animation.'

Modding support
Modders, you can take advantage of this mod as well.
Simply add collision models to the GatlingTurretBase1, GatlingTurretBase2, MissileTurretBase1, MissileTurretBarrels, InteriorTurretBase1, and InteriorTurretBase2 parts, and this mod will automatically activate them when this is installed alongside yours.
Do not add to the GatlingTurretBarrel subpart.

Sad that KEEN killed this mod. Now i must use custom turret controller and build wonky rotor turret for ability to hide it in celling (turret on piston)

Yeah, Keen broke how subparts physics works. It's not possible without performance affecting hacks now.

This doesn't seem to be working completely right anymore. I've verified it is allowing collision models in the subparts to be drawn with the script however physics is not being applied and the physics models do not move with the subparts.

I was wondering if there was any way I could convince you to combine you mod with this one: http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1241560850 This combination would be the perfect fix for the vanilla "Clumsilly Space Hogging" turrets. I will also ask the mod author of the posted link the same thing. Cheers.

Hey guys, I am just starting to mod space engineers and I have created a new missile turret, I've got it in game and everything is working, except for the collision. I was pointed to this mod from a guy on discord, however I cannot get this to work with my mod. I'm sure there is something I am doing wrong. If anyone has figured out how to use this with your mod could you please tell me how you have done it? Thanks.

It's a bug with the game now, just wait for the next Space Engineers update or use the:
