What's New?
V 1.3 - ~1000 new mission words.
-See changelog for older updates.

What?
This mod adds a few hundred nicknames for each LW2 class, and a few thousand new words for the mission/site name generators.

Why?
I was fed up with seeing the same names repeatedly. More like Operation Snore Fest!

How Much?
Current statistics are:
  • 3,467 lines of nicknames. Unsure how many unique.
  • 186 new words for haven names.
  • 293 new words for slums names.
  • 5,792 new words for mission names!

Although this is a very simple mod, it is still a mod. Use at your own risk.

The vast majority of the new additions are in keeping with the game's original flavor, but there are a small number of wacky options (because sometimes you need a good laugh after watching your soldiers get curbstomped for the 100th time). If you are the type who is concerned about the tiny possibilty of "Operation Squid Pants" showing up and breaking your immersion, consider this fair warning.

There are a very small number of "strong" words like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" and "♥♥♥♥♥" included that I felt were in line with the game's tone. Since I do understand that some people are more easily offended than others, I felt I should offer a warning. This mod DOES NOT contain profanity, vulgar language, or blatantly inflammatory terms. I haven't combed through every possible combination, though, so please let me know if the game accidentaly churns out something inappropriate.

You will see words reused during a single campaign, and you will still run into plenty of vanilla Op names. RNGesus does not answer to me.

English only. I have no plans to translate this to any other languages at this time.

Can I Help?
Yes! I'm taking all suggestions for new names.
I haven't had a chance to fully play around with LW2's classes yet, so some of the existing names are probably assigned oddly, since I had to port them over from the vanilla classes. Let me know what doesn't fit and I'll set it right.
Also, it seems as though some of the mission name words got added to all of the lists without much thought for how they're generated. If something reads oddly (e.g. Operation Bonanza Zombie), let me know and I'll look into it.

This is just a localization file. The mission names should, but the nicknames won't, unless you're using LWOTC, which, as far as I know, should be reusing the original class IDs.

It ought to, as long as it still uses the same soldier classes as LW2 did back in 2017. I don't think anything with regards to these localization files has changed since then. On the other hand, WOTC faction soldiers will still use their default nickname pools.

Do you mind if I port this at some point for Richards Classes Redux and/or Proficiency Class Pack? Just a simple re-release but with the soldier class arrays changed.

I don't have WOTC or my dev environment at this time.
It's entirely additive, so the mission names are likely to work unless they've changed the generator significantly.
The nicknames are for the LW2 classes and will only work if LW2 is installed, but should be compatible in that case.
