Babylon 5 Starfury MK1 (Vanilla)

描述
This blueprint has been sitting in my library for half a year, it's 3am here, and I decided to finish her up, and put her on the workshop. This is my second attempt at making a Starfury from the show Babylon 5. She is classified as a light fighter, and is one of the best around. If you've seen the show, then you know what I'm talking about.

This is the star fighter from the old Sci-Fi show from the 1990's, Babylon 5. This thip was designed to perform in space in the series, so it had thrusters in all directions. The pilots in the show were actually in a standing position, due to the fact there was no gravity in space, so there was no point in sitting and limiting your vision.

Now, there are quite a few Starfuries found around the workshop. These Starfuries are too big, too small, or require too many mods. This Starfury here is designed to keep the look as the one in the show, perform well in combat, and just be epic in all regards. Her only drawback is being not survival friendly, but hey, at least you can paste her in any creative world.

She has good all-round thrust, but she lacks braking power. (in the show, they had the engine pods on rotors, and I really wanted this build to be simple).

She has a decent armament, consisting of four gatlings, four rockets with a timer set as a weapons toggle so you can worry less about switching weapons, and focus more of the battle at hand. For some reason, I felt like piping up the gatlings and reactors- mainly out of habit. Despite being mostly piped up, she is NOT survival friendly. There is obviously no hidden hydrogen tanks onboard, and those wings don't leave much room for piping.

She uses my trademark hologram glass for her canopy. Other than that, she really isn't all that much of a noteworthy figher.

Full description and more pictures to come.

Here is the link to my first attempt at the majestic Starfury.

I will Help you to make the legs fold o nthe Ragnarok. And decorate it. There are some deco blocks mods. Use those instead of incomplete blocks.

I like the design for the cockpit! That's really awesome! By the way, I love your work, Raindrop. :steamhappy:

*and* Oooh a discusion on B5! The show was awesome. I really loved the fighting. Also, they had really cool ship designs. The EAS Churchill design is really cool. I noticed one design for it on the workshop. Anyhow, I really like the show. :)

I agree, I would say it was the first iteration of "hard" science fiction. They went out of the way with applying fully-newtonian physics, and they were amongst the first to start a human-human conflict in the future, so it was more dystopian than for example Star Trek DS9, which ran at the same time.
Cheers!

@UNT/TheBudgieAdmiral Actually, yes I did, it really is crazy, but they never went anywhere with it unfortunately.

One thig I love about the show was that it had everything based on reality, or feasible possibilities with technology. Truly marvelous that show was.

This is actually a very good recreation. Did you know NASA asked if they could take the Starfury as inspiration for a concept they worked on because they found it to be so physically doable??
