gm_Osmonden_Calderdale

My last map of 2016, and to wrap it all up, here is Osmonden, a small West Yorkshire Village set in the South Pennines, above the Calder Valley. Osmonden is actually near to the town of Hebden Bridge near Halifax (in West Yorkshire), which Hebden Bridge is known for quite a few things, and the moorlands of the South Pennines, Calderdale and Bronte Country have their charms as well...Osmonden has a population of about 300 people, and the name is based ofF Osmotherley, a village near to Northallerton (that is in a different part of Yorkshire), so I though I'd mix it with Hebden Bridge, result, Osmonden!

Features:
The old Methodist Chapel - Which of course has been converted into a house and can be lived in, it has 3 bedrooms, a pool, a living room and even a Music Room that is in the old Sunday School House, these were quite typical of this part of West Yorkshire. St Mark's Church - Like much of Calderdale, this was once part of the parish of Halifax, and the chapel was at nearby Heptonstall, but this church was built in the 1830s, the same time as many nearby churches such as Cragg Vale and Hebden Bridge Parish Church itself. It has a ring of 4 bells and a Compton Miniatura Organ, built in 1951 to replace an unreliable Forster and Andrews organ.
Stone Cottages and Dry Stone Walls
The Village Shop - Sells everything from Food to stuff that can potentially be used for pranking people! Ha ha ha ha!
Pub - Okay, I do not need to tell you what to do here, it is one of the best pubs in Calderdale!!
Cafe - It is another valued source of income for the village, serving food and drinks.
The old Village Mill - Once a textile mill, like this part of the country, but it is now used for other things!
Village Hall - Looks a bit unusual, but it works as a village hall.....
