How to get Erchius Fuel without the ghost bothering you

Ever go to mine Erchius fuel on a moon, and then be killed by the Erchius ghost? No, then this is the guide for you.


I personally hate the Erchius ghost. Even though its easy to escape from, its a pain in the @$$ causing you to move around and skip over good fuel deposits. This is how to get rid of the ghost, without cheating.

What is needed beforehand
You need

-Time
-Any full planet terraformer <-(Microformers dont work)
-Enough essence to use said terraformer
Step 1
Beat the ruin, gain access to the vaults, and get any terraformer(a lush terraformer[starbounder.org] is prefered as it will have the easiest enemies)
Step 2
Find a moon, near one of the planets you are on a lot is best, as it will allow easy access, but any moon works. The larger it is, the more profits you get, but more essence is needed to do the magic.
Step 3
Activate the terraformer. During this step, I advise mining some surface fuel so the ghost comes after you. But time it so that the backround changes, and he can't deal damage anymore, so you can laugh at it for being dumb.

By the time you have the resources to terraform an entire planet, fuel is really a non-issue anyway. I filled my entire reserve tank (the extra slots) without needing terraforming.

That's if your focusing on Mineral deposits as opposed to liquid, although the mech is still good for transport between pools of fuel

I find that using a mech (even the starter with no upgrades) works pretty well. Granted you can't get HUGE amounts early game. But you can quickly get 200-400 fuel if you have a good system and get lucky with veins and other block generation. All in all, great early game especially for minor solar system hopping, but late game (unless you're actively upgrading your mech) it could cause a bottle neck with gathering speed.

Coolness, why do you care about the crystal fuel? Its all about that pure, high in quantity, liquid fuel.

This thought did occur to me a while ago but it's a matter of getting to end game to do any of this, alternatively with FU you can make Erchius Buddy EPP or use a Ghost Lantern and it doesn't bother you.
