This has been remade in my Workshop Rework addon:

Medusa's look is the very first SWEP I coded all by myself, and I am very proud of it. It is still a WIP but expect more to come! Some known bugs are it sometimes conflicting with APAnti. Just look at any (ANY!) entity that is not the world and it will blow to peices! Check the forum page for the newest updates!!!

Is there any way you can (instead of blowing them to smithereens), freeze them and kill them (no explosions), replace their textures with a stone texture, and leave the ragdolls there for about as long as you want?

Hello! Cool addon, I really liked! But could you remove the model of the pistol in your hands? And if you are working on this, how soon will the change take effect?

Yes... Also I am currently working on textures for the hands as well as server support, which is coming in in just a few secs :)
