SSF-14 "Katana"

The United Humanity Defense Alliance's primary space superiority fighter (SSF), the Katana is a very fast and agile fighter designed to be cheap but effective. Coming equipped with light kinetic shielding, the Katana is able to take a small amount of fire and keep fighting. Due to it's small size and light armor, the Katana excels at dogfighting, but suffers in anti-ship roles. A tradeoff of it's small size is the lack of life support.

Armament: four gatling guns, two rocket pods
Powerplant: one large nuclear reactor (accesible from the top)
Propulsion: four large ion thrusters facing aft, four small ion thrusters facing all other directions
Defensive capabilties: light armor, light shielding
Jump Drive: not equipped
Atmospheric capable: no

NOTICE: You do not need the shield or cockpit immersion mods, but if you do not use the shield mod, you will have to remove the landing gear!
