Throughout the ruins of the Floodlands, a few Skeletons have taken it upon themselves to carry and protect the greatest intellectual treasures of the Ancients -- AI Cores, the progeny of Skeletons themselves.

Because of the current dearth of AI Cores, I felt like there needs to be SOME source of them without having to savescum importing worlds over and over. Specific to the Floodlands, this adds Skeletons simply titled "AI Carrier." They are passive unless attacked, but once provoked they are EXTREMELY dangerous. Bring a team of good fighters to take them down. Your reward? An AI Core, obviously.
They have moderate-quality gear, nothing special, but they have straight 100 in most combat-related stats, which is why they're so threatening. Also, the non-hostile Skeleton drifters that also spawn in the Floodlands will come to their defence if they happen to be near each other.

While this method of gathering Cores may not be the intended way, I don't consider this a cheat mod -- it's a difficult fight that requires a good team, good gear, and a bit of preparation. For each core.

Should be widely compatible. They may get weaker, or at least slower, if you use a mod that changes the weight of AI Cores (Stronger Group Combat does, for example).

Personally, I'm fine with cores being somewhat renewable, especially if it takes work to do (because game balancing).

Any way to make it not a single skelet, but a small squad? 3-5 weaker 'helpers' and a squad leader with core.

Great mod, hell I think reducing them to 80 combat skills from this mod and just removing the AI cores from the scrapyard would be an improvement to the current situation both lorewise and gameplaywise

Nevermind, can confirm it's still working on experimental. Just rare. Proceeded to get my ass kicked as well, along with 6 mercs I hired so there's that...

@Lexa's, bit late but I also have not found any on the most recent experimental branch. Although, maybe they're just rare? Wish I knew, I only came across about 10 spiders and 2 normal skeletons.

Its been a really really long time since I've looked at the mod, so I'm not certain, but I think I gave them their own faction so they'd be neutral to everything
