DISCLAIMER: ALL depictions, including the very real Mexican political cartoons and ESPECIALLY the Zoot Suit riots, do not represent my personal views, these events are a product of their time and real world quotes were used in their creation.
Curse of Huitzilopochtli – Mexico Overhaul is a total overhaul of not just Mexico, but how you play the game as Mexico. I grew tired of blatant inaccuracies and general lack of content for Latin American nations. I set out to create the most historically accurate mod for Hearts of Iron 4 starting in 2016. What began as a simple mod has turned into a labor of love, as I fell in love with the history and its almost unbelievable narrative involving assassination attempts, shadow governments, love triangles, espionage, and honest patriots. I have read countless books on Mexico’s position during this era, and even went into some seriously weird stuff to bring you the obscure history that this game is allowed to give considering its limitations.
What this Mod Does:
- Overhauls Mexico using historical dissertations by multiple universities, Mexican documents, and history books!
- 54 new historical events!
- 47 new historical advisors!
- 26 new historical companies!
- 13 decisions!
- 157 historical and alt historical focuses!
- 2 possible Megaprojects!
- 21 new songs just for Mexico!
- 12 new loading screen quotes from the era!
- New tech tree art!
- Historical AI when you aren’t playing Mexico!
- Mod has a built-in historical mode when you ARE playing Mexico! Just check the historical focus box and countries will react like they did in history, no chance of an ahistorical war happening!
