Type 14 Nambu pistol

The final version of the Nambu pistol, designed by General Kijiro Nambu and inspired by the german Mauser C96 and Luger P08 pistols. It was the service pistol of all Imperial Japanese Armed Forces, complemented late in World War 2 by the markedly inferior but cheaper Type 94 pistol. Despite solid design, the weapon suffered from an underpowered cartridge compared to handguns of the time. After World War 2, it served as the design basis of the Ruger Mark 2, and the entire Ruger company.

Type 97 Hand Grenade

The standard hand grenade of Imperial Japanese forces, improved over the old Type 91 grenade. It however suffered from a smaller explosive charge than contemporary grenades, as well as an unreliable fuse.
