The DarkStar is a mix between a light cruiser and a carrier, built for more of a support role then a direct assault role.
The ship has a large cargo capacity and has a small amount of refining and assembly fuction to supply other ships as well as its own fighter complement.

The ship was built with one intentional weakness......its reactor, if the reactor chamber is breached, it will explode taking about a 3rd of the ship with it. this can also be done manualy by starting the reactor overload sequence which will count down 2 min before exploding.

The ship can handle upper atomosheric condidtions, down to about .50g planetary gravity using 8 large thruster on its belly. These thrusters are off by default but can be activated through the main cockbit and other control station. operations in planetary gravity higher then .50g may result in the ship becoming traped in atmoshere.

The Darkstar has 2 primary cannons that can be controlled, one on its belly and one on its back. The ship also has an array of missile launchers and gatling turrets.

The main hanger doors and cargo bay doors are on a sequence timer, once the doors are fully open they will remain open for 20sec before closing again.

As a support ship, the Darkstar is designed for long range and is there for equiped with 12 jumpdrives

This ship is ready for dev or stable branches as well as creative or survival modes.
