Longer Torches

描述
Hey guys! Welcome to Longer Torches!

-<What this mod does>-

This mod simply changes the lifetime of a torch, infact trippling it from 240 seconds (4 minutes)
to 720 seconds (12 minutes).
Also, it turns up the "Intensity Amplitude", which increases intensity of the flicker effect of the flame. But don't worry, the change is REALLY hard to notice and very subtle.
Also, it changes the weight of torches to 0.2 down from 0.5, so you can carry more as you willl likely need more (see below for explanaition).

-<What this mod NOT does>-

This mod does not alter the model in anyway, so they are not literally longer, they just burn longer.

-<Original purpose of this mod>-

This mod is very small and lightweight, because it changes something i haven't found in Steam Workshop yet and fills a gap. It is thought to be used by all those who have those more realistic light mods and color tweaks and enb like I have, which makes the excessive use of torches almost uninevitable because of the darker nights and dungeons.

Also, this mod is for those, who use 'set timescale to x' where as x is smaller than the default value, meaning they lenghten their days and nights.
Small example, the default value for timescale is 20, meaning if 1 minute in real-life passes, 20 minutes in Skyrim have passed. If we now look at the default torch time of 4 minutes, that would make 1 hour and 20 minutes in Skyrim. I for myself use a timescale value of 6, which means, 10 minutes in real-life are 1 hour in skyrim. So with the new torch value being 12 minutes, I have almost as long a torch (in-game) as in vanilla, giving balance back to those who just wanted more time and realism.

-<Conflicts with other mods>-

Basically ALL mods that alter Torches or their behavior will interfere with my mod, and they will overwrite themselves.
If you find any other bugs, please first disable all other light mods, to be sure it is my mod that causes problems, then leave a comment and describe what is happening, so I can get to fixing. Thank you.

<=EDIT=>

Changed the description so that the weight reduce of torches is now reflected.

Hm, first, sorry for taking so long, duties kept me from responding (or even opening steam at all <.<)
@Jbroeder this is not the scope of the mod and I won't do that, but with a bit of research on the official 'Creation Kit' wiki (the tool used to create and now mod skyrim), you should be able to make this change to my mod in less than 10 minutes :)

Can I change the burntime of the torches even further? I like to play at really low timescales. A MCM menu or something like that would be nice :)

A very helpful mod indeed. Thank you. If you have the time, you should do more.

Why not make torches infinite?
And why make give torches bonus bash damage?
Either way thanks.

Hmm, cant say for sure. If your mod modifies lighting behavior in general, they wont conflict but if it modifies specifically the light radius of the torch then yes, they will interfere.
