Constructed in 1887, the Kansas City Freighthouse served as a holding area for cargo that was delivered by rail. For much of the 20th century, the building served an important role for merchants and industries who regularly picked up goods and materials from the trains that stopped here.

Functions as Cargo Train Terminal.

PLACEMENT:
As of 1.6, subbuildings are now included by default in the game, no mod necessary for placement.
If you'd like a more authentic freight experience, the Catenary Replacer mod can remove overhead cables from your tracks.

I just had 5 planes nose dive into the station and then take off of the interstate that runs along it.

Would be a very low-noise freight airport, but alas, no trucks come to get the cargo. Only from train to plane and vise-versa.

Or use the mod to adjust where vehicles come out and move cargo trains to the correct line.

This is happening because your by-pass track is too close to the station.

https://ibb.co/J2zkvBB Freight trains always use nearby passenger tracks and never go to load into the freight station

I will use one-way tracks for control in the interim. Was able to move the spawn points so no longer beside the station, but can't get trains to stay in their lane coming in to unload.
It is still a great looking asset. If anyone irons out the bi-directional use, pls keep us posted.

Great asset. Paid attention to detail on truck spawning and despawning. See few conflicts compared to other Cargo Depots.
Yes the Cargo Train spawn/despawn point needs to be shifted right to be centred on building, not centred on the truck spawn points. Oh well.
Yes the tracks need to be extended to the right just past the building.
Yes the building size needs to be bigger, from 14x5 to 18x5 or 20x5. I cannot tell. The Editor would not let me increase it past 16. Oh well.

I still love the asset. If anyone can hint at how to increase its designated footprint size, that would be great.

Yes, it is too short. But if you use it either with one-way tracks, or with the double-track connected to only one side, you can side-step the pile-ups.
