描述
This is a very simple but effective anti-spider (bounce-) modification for Titan Quest (Anniversary Edition). It was tested thoroughly for the lastest steam version of TQ:IT before the beta patch updates of 2016. However, it seemed to be working fine for all versions (as of September 2016, this one included, obviously), too, hence the upload.

1. Play
To play you simply start this mod from your "Custom Game" in single player with a dummy character, you will then be redirected to the main campaign, where you can select your actual character and start playing. Single-/Multiplayer settings are configured only after redirection.

2. Mod Content
The mod was originally made for private use only, but due to the availability of this Workshop I decided to share it anyway since there did not seem to be any other working one to be found on the internet. As stated above, the mod operates by a very simple scheme: All meshes of all spider-related or spider-alike enemies are replaced by either centaurs or turtles. While working just fine concerning the initial goal, you will find, however, that the animations for those replaced meshes do not work and the old textures might look weird on those new meshes (I generally did not bother to change those). If you can live with that, you will get what you were searching for.

3. Bugs/Remarks
On one older system I repeatedly observed a sudden crash of the game during the redirection to the main campaign. If this happens to you, try starting the game without the mod first, then leave the game immediately and start the mod as described above without closing Titan Quest in between.

The only known spiders left in the game are in the form of a symbolical picture drawn on the front of one type of shield later in the game. (But I guess this is no big problem as I was told by the person I made this for - though, I am aware that arachnophobia may express itself very diversely, wherefore I mention this fact.) I would estimate the first possible appearance to be somewhere in 2nd or 3rd act in epic (second) difficulty.

@thelastdisciple: Glad you find use for this. Be aware, however, that the latest dlcs are not covered and may introduce more spider enemies even in earlier chapters of the game (although most should be removed).

This is a game i got a while ago and usually i know to do my research when it comes to whether there are spiders present but it slipped by, i was just thinking of finally giving this one a look and thought of checking some wiki just in case. Well low and behold... far be it for an ARPG not to have spiders in it, i know they make sense to have in caves and the environments present in the game but damn, they're just such a trope and i wish they weren't as commonly included as they are. Anyways I was hoping for a mod like this and here it is, so i thank you kindly! Definitely saving me lots of stress haha cheers! :leatherneck:

@Sara.: I basically did only the bare minimum, i.e. in the Art Manager I replaced the mesh of every record of a spider(-like) enemy I could find by something else (turtles and centaurs in my case). Then after compilation I replaced the modded map file with the bounce map.

@ Yrol Denjeah: Thank you for your feedback. Indeed, the funny movement of enemies was the main reason I did not change the animations :D
At the moment I have not played the new DLCs so I can not give you any information on the amount of spider in those parts of the game. Also, I'm afraid this mod will not replace any spider-esque enemies for the new content.

Masterplan, i started playing again and, still your mod works :o)
Actually, those Centaurs are really cool the way they move, with their lil tails wiggling.
And the hobbling, bit like barbie dolls... Hilarious!
I am just a little concerned about xpack 2 and xpack 3,
are there as many arachnoids as in the standard game and xpack 1?

@necsandr: My pleasure.

As every single variant of enemy has to be replaced individually this might also happen if an official patch adds another variant (this has happened repeatedly some time ago). I'll try to find time to look into this.

Big thanks for the mod.
I've been avoiding several areas of the game, including one quest-related zone.
I had to fight the Bloated one with my eyes closed. -_-

Going through Egypt I came across some Broodmother hero in Gyza, which wasn't replaced. Probably, they have separate copies of a model instead of using single one.

Worked for me so I really appreciate your effort to do this mod.

I can confirm that the "play normal game first" trick in case of game crash works (or worked for me).
