Land Doctrine Rebalance 1.5

A mod balancing land doctrines in HOI IV v1.3 to make all options equally powerful, viable, and different. A full list of changes is available in the "Change Notes."

This mod is not a legacy. It operates correctly regardless of game version and expansions. I will return to deliver a larger update to it and add more doctrines once Paradox makes major changes to the combat system (still waiting btw).

Goals of mod:

1. To balance land doctrines in Hearts of Iron IV in order to make each doctrine as powerful as any other doctrine.

2. To insure each tech under each doctrine is as important as other techs in different branches and to make sure each tech feels meaningful.

3. To make as few changes as possible to as few files as possible in order to insure as much compatibility as possible with as many mods as possible. (Currently this mod will work with all mods which do not specifically modify Land_Doctrine.txt in common/technologies.)

4. Modifying the AI when possible to insure it does not do something incredibly stupid, like research a different doctrine tree after it has already completed another doctrine tree. (1.1.2 fully operational.)


The core idea behind this mod is to rebalance all land doctrines to be equal in power level (though not in function) to superior firepower. As Superior Firepower is the basis of this mod, it is changed the least with a few minor tweaks here and there. Mobile Warfare has also been changed little, with the exception of changes at the very end of the tree and few switching of perks here and there. Both Grand Battleplan and, especially, Mass Assault have received massive changes and additions in order to keep their original core ideas of slow planning and mass troops, respectively, while also receiving a massive boost in power.


If you are having trouble updating the mod, then just unsubscribe and resubscribe. It's a Steam Workshop thing, I have no idea why it sometimes autoupdates and other times it does not. New updates should not break old saves so no worries. :)
