VC Tribute – Exploration Vessel (VCS Red Ocean)

When Void Corp looks to expand into territory that may be held by hostile forces or corporate competitors, they send an exploration vessel like the VCS Red Ocean to scout ahead. Equipped with refinery and assembler systems in addition to the standard life support package, exploration ships like the Red Ocean are capable of tremendous endurance, able to continue operations, unsupported, for months or even years at a time.

But, in hazardous areas of space where competitors might be looking to stamp out their rivals, and those rivals’ vessels, endurance isn’t enough. Therefore, Void Corp has outfitted these vessels with an offensive weapons package which rivals that of a small warship. So, while it does not have the armor of a frontline warship, it can pack the punch of one.

These exploration ships also feature a massive ventral hydrogen thruster array which gives them the capability to land on and take off from moons and even planets. The redundancy of thrusters also means that the crew can cannibalize damaged hydrogen thrusters to fix other thrusters when necessary.
