Also note, there is or was an export bug that would cause parts in the export to revert back to its basic shape and size when attaching other parts to an exported part. So it is best to place parts on normal parts and avoid placing on exports. If you need to have something attached to an exsisting export part, it is best to place it on a basic part and offset it over to the export. EG Place an equipment laser on a normal part of a ships hull close to where you place the export laser and then offset it over and inside the export laser (shots should come from the export then).
