Photogrammetry of a horsehair crab shell. Remnants of a sushi meal over the weekend - the sushi chef was kind enough to let me take the shell with me to capture. 249 photos taken with an iPhone 6S, photogrammetry done with Reality Capture.

I propped the shell up with a few toothpicks hot-glued to a screwdriver so I could capture the inside of the shell. After the 3D model was created in RealityCapture, I removed the toothpicks in Maya.

The horsehair crab, Erimacrus isenbeckii, (Japanese: ケガニ kegani), is a species of crab which is found in the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean and is frequently used in Japanese cuisine. (Wikipedia)
