The Citadel Outpost was one of the biggest successors in colonizing deep space. Its main purpose was a comms relay outpost because of its long range signal output with pure basic components. One Outpost was specifically effected in a way that will never be forgotten of. On October 17th, 2056 orbiting the planet Mayi 6 in the Septron system the Novosibirsk Outpost received a major hit from a unknown Solar storm that wasn't able to be detected until it was too late. The outpost was thrown into chaos as the storm knocked out its main On-board Orbital Navigation Computer (ONC) and caused the station to drift off into deep space.
James C. Kendrik was aboard the Novosibirsk in deep sleep mode when the storm struck. Luckily the emergency power activated and awoke James 3 days after the impact. When James awoke, he activated the Asteroid Defense System (ADS) when an approaching asteroid storm was bound to impact the Novosibirsk. The Novosibirsk received critical hits to the side causing total decompression in the main airlock and completely destroying 1 of the 2 landing pads. The Novosibirsk Outpost however was in a unknown location, and after the solar storm the last recorded data input from the ONC recorded data that was believed to be the key to the development of Hyper Strands.
Hyper Strands are a key component in Superconductor Conduits which allows matter to have the ability to be broken down into dark matter and beamed to a highly accurate location depending on the amount of power input and the given amount of solidly connected matter surrounding the conduits. However, conduits make great use in power transfer, eg, in reactors and can transmit light data without stress on the Optical Transmission Module.
