1. Hook yourself to the vehicle and get UH-80 as low to the ground as possible
2. Hold shift to force the "pull", you should be able to get your helicopter on ~40m above the ground and then you'll start going down slowly
3. Gain speed and use it to drag your nose up and go higher.
And then all you have to do is go back to the airport and drop the Prowler. I guess that's how physics work, definitely works in Arma.

I do agree with someone below that a visual indicator of where things should be dropped would be good. The one exception would be the air drop which makes thematic sense for no visual indicator.
Additionally if you could look into it, it may be worth removing some of the AI assets to help with the performance of the mission. For some reason I was getting much lower frames than I normally do wtih Tanoa missions. Or alternatively disable AI logic for various things since most of them do not need to move or interact with the player at all.
