Not really hard, not easy either. The fact that the bottom fizzler for the sphere button has no linkage makes it really hard to see how you need to deactivate it. Maybe it has linkage, but I couldn't see it from most areas. Also, the pedestal button to activate the platforms can be skipped entirely. Just portal up the laser room first, then from there portal on the floor of the sphere room.
