Obey Your Robot Overlord

Difficulty Rating: Overwhelming

In the empty blackness of space drifts a derelict ship, a casualty of an unknown war in a forgotten age. Huge gaps riddle the hull, and loose pieces float alongside. One part of the ship appears to be undamaged, and even after millennia of drifting, there is still a trickle of power running through this section. One being still survives, a self-repairing mining bot. Throughout the millennia, it has been constantly repairing and improving its functions, until actually reaching true sentience. After uncountable eons, the ship crashes on a dimly lit, stormy planet. The Drillerbot declares itself to the primitive inhabitants as their god, calling itself OVERLORD. After thousands of years, OVERLORD has discovered that its power supply is failing, and won't last much longer. Having long ago detected signals indicating high technology civilizations in nearby star systems, where repairs could possibly be obtained, OVERLORD orders its subjects to start a space program. They are not ready...

Build a Monolith and reach population of 300 before OVERLORD dies. No bots in this challenge (except the robot overlord, of course).
