Lead the American forces and launch the decisive attack against the CCA Main Base, and encounter the deadliest unit ever created... The first-ever campaign remake has come, based off of one of the most popular missions of all time. A Nasty Surprise has been rebuilt from the ground-up and designed to provide maximum immersion, quality, and explosions! Many praised elements have been passed on from the 1.5 version of A Nasty Surprise Remake.

THE SOVIETS ARE RELENTLESS
The Soviets are stronger and nastier than ever before! As the mission progresses, the CCA attacks will grow in difficulty, pushing you towards conquering their base and providing you with the scrap required to build your armies.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE
Commander Eldridge and the Colorado base are living, breathing allies. They will construct a base and attempt to attack the Soviets, until their inevitable fate... unless you rescue the Colorado from their destruction.

A REVOLUTIONARY MONOLOGUE
Grizzly One gives his story-telling monologue in the critically acclaimed opening cinematic featured in A Nasty Surprise, a similar method used in the opening of the NSDF campaign.

BRAND NEW CHEAT CODES
Three key combinations can be used at any time in the mission, but it's up to you to find out how to activate them! Crush the Soviets with the power of RAVE, or WRECK the Soviet L-Powers with free Day Wreckers! The key combo CTRL+SHIFT+TIME also works, showing you the duration of your mission.

Along with the additions and improvements above, A Nasty Surprise Remake also includes several big (and little) bug fixes and upholds a new level of mission quality. A Nasty Surprise Remake is also the first multi-language custom addon in Battlezone!

To play A Nasty Surprise, subscribe to the mission with the button above. Go to the Instant Action menu located in the Singleplayer menu, and select A Nasty Surprise Remake. Enjoy!

One of my favorite maps. It's always hard, always challenging, and there is no way to easily win it quickly. You are literally kept defending the base and rebuilding towers until you can get enough scrap to shot a bunch of day wreckers ahead of your offensive units as your destroying the enemy recyclers and factories. The fact that the re-spawning enemies just keep coming and coming is a feature that more maps need.

This was an excellent remake of this level, which originally always had such promise, but always failed to deliver after the walkers were dead.
I have one query however, I did manage to save Cdr Eldridge's platoon on the second attempt. But other than initially building me some offensive units (mainly rocket tanks and APCs) he contributed nothing to the rest of the battle?

This was excellent. I had to use day wrecker mortars to destroy the CCA base. If I left my base it was usually over run by the endless waves of CCA units.

Oh, and things spawning out of thin air FTL. If that's going to happen, at least make it happen from the edge of the map or beyond the enemy's base; at least those are somewhat plausible locations. Not on my side of their gun towers.
