Jessica - The Spider Huntress

描述
Jessica is a huntress who hates spiders with a murderous passion. Equipped with her latest bug swatter, she bravely steps into the unknown to fight her mortal enemy. (Except Webber. She and Webber are cool. It was awkward at first, but they managed to work it out.)

Comes with a custom Spider Swatter weapon craftable upon Science Level 1.
• Has the strength of a Spear with x5 damage to spider enemies (including spider queens!)
• Requires 1 Spear, 2 Silk, and 2 Rope.
• Anyone playing with her on the same server can craft Spider Swatters as well. Jessica happily shares the hunting knowledge.
• For servers with PvP: the Spider Swatter acts as a normal spear against Webber to avoid instant-kills.

Jessica also starts with a trap to help her catch spiders or rabbits. Keep a spider on hand to kill for a quick sanity boost.

Health: 200 | Hunger: 150 | Sanity: 200
• Strong Fighter
• Gains Sanity upon killing Spiders
• Loses Sanity Fast (1.5 times the normal loss)
• Custom Dialogue

Compatibility:
* There was an old glitch where the spider swatter would vanish after being dropped, this has since been fixed. However if it does for some reason it does still vanish, hitting the spacebar nearby where you dropped it will cause your character to auto-pick up the item and return it to your inventory.
* There is an older version of this mod (Version 1) with a different gameplay style that is now unlisted from the workshop. Should you happen to have the old one, use either Jessica Version 1 or Version 2, but do not use both on the same server. They share file names and won't load together.

I have tried pasting it in there and it seems to do something, but it keeps crashing and saying it expects <eof> or something near or at the end.

@Israphel That's a bit of a complex question, but I'll try to help. In your custom item's .lua file, you should have a local function called "onattack" -- in that function you'll want to make an if-statement checking if the target:HasTag("nightmarecreature"). If it has the tag, then set the weapon's damage higher, else set it to whatever value you want the weapon to have normally.

Hello, Mali, can you please help me with something? I am making a mod and I am almost done, but I have to give a item special properties similar to the spider splatter. Instead of spiders though, it's nightmare creatures. I simply don't know where to put the line of code in. It seems all your code for the splatter is mostly connected, and I dunno how to do that.

@Relic You are asking me about the art work for the characters? For that you have to draw your character and then edit it into the game. There is a great tutorial on the Klei Forums posted by user TheDanaAddams called "The Artist's Guide To Character/item Modding" which should help you.
