So when Stellaris launched, Orbital Bombardment didn't actually have the chances to kill pops and ruin buildings that the tooltips said. So I made this mod to fix that. Then Paradox fixed it in 1.6 - but by changing the tooltips to match the IMO insanely low chances. So this mod stuck around. Now in 2.0 as part of their rework of well, basically everything, they changed the default version of orbital bombardment to something that seems....semi-acceptable, maybe, so IMO this mod won't really be necessary past 2.0.

I'll still want it stronger myself, but there's my other mod for that. This version will be left as is for people who aren't upgrading to 2.0.

Changes:

events/orbital_bombardment.txt
Light Orbital Bombardment: 5% chance to kill pop per month (was 0%)
Limited Orbital Bombardment: 10% chance to kill pop per month (was 2%), 10% chance to ruin a building per month (was 5%)
Full Orbital Bombardment: 15% chance to kill pop per month (was 4%), 20% chance to ruin a building per month
(was 10%), 10% chance to create a tile blocker per month (was 5%).
Armageddon Orbital Bombardment: 15% chance to kill pop per month (was 6%), 20% chance to ruin a building per month (was 15%), 10% chance to create a tile blocker per month (was 6%).

Thanks for your answer buddy, sorry I didn't read the description. Actually I want a mod that it could add the ship firing visuals while bombardment instead of planet bomb itself.:steamfacepalm:

@求和: the entire point of this version of the mod is for people that stuck with version 1.9 of the game, so there's no reason to update it.

If you're using version 2.0 or above, you don't need this mod anymore because the base game fixed the problem (if you want stronger bombardment instead of just fixing bugs that no longer exist, there's this version instead).

For the record, 2.0 basically makes this mod obsolete so I'm not yet sure I will be updating it for compatibility, but if I do not, I will definitely be leaving it available for those who are sticking with 1.9 or below.

Also, this mod deliberately does not include the unity or tomb world changes from my other mod. It might still allow killing of the last pop via bombardment, honestly - I have never been entirely sure that that restriction actually worked (or did not, as the case may be).

Does this mod also let FPs and DEs gain unity from killing pops via bombardment, and can it kill the last pop?

Hm. Well, this is funny. Paradox finally fixed the bug that made me create this mod.

By editing the tooltips to match the, um, remarkably low figures in the event files, instead of the other way around. :steamfacepalm:

Ah, well, I'll keep this mod around for people who want a slightly stronger tweak as opposed to the MUCH stronger version in my other mod.

1.6 update: the tooltips are still identical. (also the mod should work fine with 1.6, but I will probably get around to updating the version entry eventually.)

It's supposed to be better, but Paradox didn't finish implementing it so I didn't have anything to go on but the tooltips (which were identical.)

Apparently it's been fixed for 1.6 so I'll have to update this version for the new figures when I know what tthey are.
