The "Companion" Compact Concept Ship

The "Companion" is a minimalist concept ship designed by Blue Mining Inc as a prototype ultra light capital ship.

This ship was designed to meet the following specifications:
* Ultra light/compact, it must make maximum use of available space, while overall taking up very little space.
* Small ship carrier, it must include a hangar for a shuttle.
* Life Support, it must include a full set of medical and life support systems.
* Versatile, it must include at least basic industrial construction capability.
* Redundant power, it must include some sort of backup power system.
* Agility, it must have adequate accelleration, braking and turning power.

In field evaluations this ship passed all the basic criteria for commercial release; however pilots indicate that the Agility is sub-par and it is suggested that these ships be retrofitted with higher tier thrust instead of the factory IONs.

Another issue noted is that oxygen tends to accumulate only in the medical section.

It is otherwise an economical lite capital ship requiring much less materials than military spec designs.
