P-61 "Black Widow"

Weapon Mapping:

The P 61 Black widow had quite a few guns in its arsenal, and so this aero has quite a few points of fire in turn. The top spot is maped to fire from where the planes cannons were, under the cockpit. The left and right slots on the diamond fire from under the wings. The bottom slot of the diamond fires from the turret on top of the cockpit and is intended for machine guns. This mod also comes with two skins: a neutral skin and a night fighter skin.

History:

The Northrop P-61 Black Widow, named for the American spider, was the first operational U.S. warplane designed as a night fighter. It was the first aircraft designed to use radar, which was stored in the nose of the aircraft. The crew of the Black Widow consisted of a pilot, gunner, and radar operator. The P-61 Black Widow operated effectively as a night fighter for the U.S. Army Air Force squadrons in the European, Pacific, Chinese, Burman, Indian, and Mediterranean theaters during WW II.
