6 days after D-Day, the allied forces are now seeking to link beachheads (Utah and Omaha). The Port City of Carentan is at the crux of this objective. If the allies succeed they will create a continuous line of defence against the threat of certain German counter-attacks. But with the Douve River intentionally flooded into the surrounding floodplain, the German reminant are ready and waiting.
