The night elves (or kaldorei, which means ''Children of the Stars'' in their native tongue of Darnassian) are among the oldest known races in the universe. They have a long and fascinating history. Native on their home planet Darnassus Prime, the night elves ended a long period of secluison at the end of the Third War and became members of the Alliance. The night elves are now trying to rebuild what was lost after the battle with Archimonde. Night elven culture has been greatly influenced by the ancient Celts. The night elves are a people who have dedicated their individual lives, as well as the very organized of their entire society, in the pursuit of the protection of the natural world.
