Warhammer in General
Women control $20 trillion in annual consumer spending globally. Women also make up about half of the video gaming population but less so for miniature gaming, where we see a lack of representation on the table. If you start representing us in an equal manner to our male counterparts, you will see an increase in sales to women. Everywhere I turn, be it a Rogue Trader RPG Arch-Militant or a Dark Heresy RPG Inquisitor or an Adeptas Sororitas or an Imperial Commissar, the women that are depicted by Games Workshop are on the whole sexualized. Should I just be happy that we are depicted at all? I don’t believe so.
Warhammer: Vermintide
Let's go over the female heros in general, the Waywatcher and the Bright Wizard. The Waywatcher is depicted as a fast moving range class while the Bright Wizard relies on spells at a distance to be effective. Now why can't we involve a female character that is strong at a melee range? It all comes back to the male dominated game dev scene. Men want to be the powerful classes that can hack and slash and if they do decide to add female characters to the game it's best if they are ranged classes because they're seen as weak and unable to defend themselves up close. We see it time and time again in nearly every video game. The men are able to go upclose and deal damage and defend the women who are standing in the back. As a female gamer myself I'd like to be represented as strong and independent from male intervention. To best increase profit from sales game devs should include strong women in their games to attract the female gamer audience.
Conclusion
If Warhammer wants to attract the female gamer audience they must appeal to them. That means representing women as strong characters and introducing more women into the series. We need to have a balance of male to female characters like we do with most social media. This is entertainment at it's core and to entertain the other half of the gaming population game devs must appeal to the female demographic. It not only promotes growth for their game it also diminishes the idea that women are weak, an idea that must be removed from our society so it can function properly without having social conflict between the sexes.

Really don't think that this game is too bad, especially not compared to the many very sexist games that there are out there. Kerillian is good at close range as well as long range, and neither of the female characters here seem particularly sexualised or underdeveloped as characters.

The arguments are mostly out of the air:
- do you believe women make up for almost 50% of the vermintide players? Or ever will? Hack&Slay? Really?
- Women are in no way "sexualized" in Vermintide, as you expressed it.
- Yea, be happy that they are depicted at all. Non-feminists would not mind if they are.
- If you think women are as powerful as men, go to the gym and see yourself. Or watch athletics in TV.

Fuegonasus has quite some strength. Did you even play the game?

I find 150 kg berserker-women ridiculous in video games. Like this comment... Meanwhile female martial arts experts are fully OK ! Especially with tight panties!

First of all OP is clearly a troll. No doubt about it.

Secondly, for anyone who swalled the bait:

Can you not play the dwarf or soldier regardless of your real gender?
Is the waywatcher not extremely strong and the most self-reliant of the 5 in melee with traits that no other character gets?
Is the waywatcher's personality not designed to represent incredible skill, lone wolfing and superiority?

OP is a made up complaint with no real arguements behind it. It's either done out of spite or to troll and everyone should take their sense for justise elsewhere where there is a point in it.

Is this a joke?

Very reasonable position really. I remembered hearing that when the game originally launched there were intentions to add more characters and options. IE dwarven slayer, other types of mages. etc. The idea of having both male and female character models is actually very reasonable too.

There are a bunch of 12-year-old trolls here, so don't pay attention to them. They're idiots and are not afraid to show it. You've made some good points and personally I think that ALL characters in the game should have both male and female models.
