Joined a team with a beer in hand and got surrounded by rat warriors with swords thanks to my buddies for not leaving me in the first tunnel now I fear darkness less than hungry rats.

So.... As someone with hundreds of hours in its sequel, I must say... This game is awful. In all of the ways for a solo player specificly. The Ally AI is some of the worst I have seen in a video game, their path finding is fine, incredible in fact, with fail safes in case they can't get to you. Unless there is any distraction on the entire planet. If you get knocked or pinned and another ally got pinned before you, you may as well accept that YOU HAVE LOST, they go on a side quest to go save the ally that they could just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shoot and leave you to die, without fail, every time. They randomly decide to not parry attacks for 5 minutes just to waste healing. They refuse to hand you items ever and also won't pick up books unless you trick them into it by swapping a healing item for the Tome at the last second like it is Indiana Jones. The difficulty scaling is also just plain terrible. Playing the game on normal, solo, is either far too easy, or you barely get by because of the idiotic AI. I have soloed almost all content in Vermintide 2 on Legend, and it plays nothing like this game. Anything above that is basicly impossible if you don't have high end loot. Weapons don't really have the diversity of weight like in the sequel. The addition of skills and abilities was a nessecity for a game of this kind to ever work. In fact some are physically unusable, an issue that only really Markus has in the sequel. This is not vermintide, this is a college solo project with a Warhammer Stamp on it. Avoid at all costs.

I must add a bit to this review however. The sound design is lovely, voice acting is absolutely stunning, visual design is high quality. This team clearly knew how to design a game. Just not how to make one fun.
