I had to start somewhere. The following scenario was originally built by Christopher Stoner aka Primarchx and was completed in September 2013. I kept his original forces and added as i saw fit to reshape the scenario.
I am changing it to a scenario where Iran has broken the nuclear deal and after sanctions applied, closed the gulf. We have highly classified source confirmation of a site where nuclear warheads are being worked on or in posession of the Iranians. Israeli has issued a deadline. Destroy the violator site within 48 hours or they will. That must be avoided.
Iran has skirmished already with US forces and seized several oil tankers. The crews are being held. Sattellite intel shows the Iranians are prepping every missile they have. There is a lot of heavy truck activity. We face have a major threat from SCUD missiles on up. AAW and ABM systems are sure to be tested.

United States vs. Iran

Date/Time: 1st June 2020/ 5:00:00 Zulu
Location: Arabian Sea and Strait of Hormuz
Playable Sides: United States

Introduction

Frustrated on the international stage, the Iranian President declared a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz until such time as the United States 'allowed Iran it's due respect and rights'. Including regional strategic power.

Progressively worsening American relations with Russia have led to a state of brusque intolerance between the two nations. China has also been at odds with the US over their expansionism in East Asia and trade inequities. Both have worked to increase their influence with Iran, in particular by providing them a new generation of 'defensive armaments', despite the protests of a weakened United States. Ina ddition Iran and North Korea seem to have been collaborating on ballitic missile technology. Iran is a formidable power in conventional terms.

The American President is not deterred from standing against the Iranian ultimatum. First priority is the violator sites. If necessary a strategic asset is available. A Trident armed SSBN is at sea awaiting orders. If any warheads leave Iranian airspace tracking for Israel, a very limited nuclear counterstrike is a certainty. If the violator site is not hit within 48 hours the Israelis may strike. Diplomatic efforts are underway but do not interferee with Israeli forces if encountered. IFF codes are current and valid.

Scenario Notes

This is a large scenario encompassing a 1 week action by the USN with modern multiple surface groups transiting the Strait of Hormuz against a re-invigorated Iranian military. Air power is also a factor. 2 CVN's worth.

To keep the game somewhat playable the large amount of local shipping - coasters, fishing dhows, etc, have been removed. It's assumed that this traffic still exists and is being monitored by your forces. Representing the Iranian's use of asymmetric tactics the player should expect that surface vessels may not be detected until they decide to unmask themselves - this is represented by occasionally moving Iranian ships into position instead of having them hide among dozens of other neutral vessels.

Scoring
The point values for Iranian targets are weighted heavily on a small number of critical systems - submarines, IADS, ASM batteries for example. Most Iranian targets are worth quite little (though it adds up) and the US starts with a significant point deficit. On the other hand most American units are costly to the player if lost and force protection is a major consideration with so few assets available. In particular the Zumwalt & America SAG groups need to succeed in passing through through the Strait and will be heavily opposed. Protecting this group is a high priority.

I realize I said to take out the lasers until patch 1.12 comes out, but I meant until the DLC comes out. I have the newest RC version and it still wont let me open the scenario.

You need to take out whatever lasers you've added from the 1.12 patch until it comes out because no one but you can run the scenario. It is saying we have to upgrade to Chains of War (which isn't out yet) just to open the scenario. I have no idea why the devs allowed us to add weapons that we can't use yet, it was stupid and has broken multiple scenarios. Yours is the first I've found, so I just wanted to let you know! Looking forward to play the scenario when we can actually use the new stuff :P
