Only download this if you have that strange bug where trees duplicate themselves on top of each other. Usually all varieties of one tree will exist at one position. This mod recognizes that and deletes all but one instance. Thanks to reddit user wckda for this. I take no credit and I'll promise no support/bugfixes; I'm just doing the favor of publishing to the workshop.

I could very likely be wrong but based on comments and my own experience I think the problem is caused by having tree anarchy enabled. Multiple instances of the tree get placed on the same spot. Consider planting trees without tree anarchy and you might not need this mod.

Usage: Enable the mod in Content Manager. Load the save. When you're ready, click the button that says Deduplicate Trees. The game will stop for a minute, might throw an error message, but should remove the trees just fine.

Hi folks, I'm still here but won't promise any support of the mod since I didn't write it and its only purpose is a bandaid fix of a relatively rare edge-case. Glad to see it's somehow still working for most of you though, seven years later.

It looks like is breaking my game...
got debugged window with tons of problem when I clicked clear I gat never-ending loop of problem, no electricity no water no bus connections and so on.

anyone same problem... or how can I fix this?
Is there any mod that doesn't go along this one?

Could it be that you get duplicate trees when the brush is on full intensity? I figure there are no duplicate trees when I put the brush strenght to zero,

Any ways to hide the button after you've done with trees? Or at least make it more compact

Still works. Got a map that starts with 900k trees, eliminated almost 10k duplicate trees.

ok i worked it out , my problem has something to do with the combination of "extra landscaping tools" and "prop and tree anarchy" . deactivating the ELT while gardening is the solution
