Eion-class Light Carrier

The Eion-class light carrier is a light capital ship classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to fleet command and support.

History
As the UNSC's heavier carriers like the Athens were lost in combat and expensive to replace, the UNSC had to consider a more economical way to fill the gaps left in the carrier roster. Thus the Eion was commissioned. The Eion is not simply economical, but effective. It may not have the durability or extensive facilities of its larger cousins like the Epoch-class heavy carrier or the Athens-class it replaces, but it packs just as much firepower into an affordable body, as well as room for a squadron or two of Longswords. The UNSC Musashi was a well known Eion-class that was destroyed over Reach.

Tactics
The Eion, while decent in head-on combat, is most useful when protected at the center of the fleet, spewing out fighters and resupplying more combat oriented ships like cruisers.

To use this ship: This ship has a modest (and rather dark) interior with a pilot seat and control panels to control frigates, fighters, and destroyers.
