German Armor divisions during winter 44-45, in Western Front, used all the available factory patterns (Hinterhalt) but also custom made ones, like octopus cammo.

After the battle of Normandy and the bombardments in industrial Germany by Allied Airforce, German Armor manufacturehad lack of materials and coloring elements. After September 44 the basic factory yellow color was abandoned along with the factory zimmerit. Many armored Vehicle/Tanks came out with simple color or factory oxide yellow painting and the armor crews applied custom patterns according to existing colors. Green was more rare along with yellow so they used these 2 as elements for patterns and that's why we have variations with more simple green or brown ( with oxide base ). In the last months of 45 the basic color changed from oxide yellow to green.
