the witch killed itself because he entered the safe room, and witches are programmed to think of safe rooms as out of bounds, meaning, she thought there was no way to get to him, and the witch is programmed to run away and either despawn or kill itself if it can't get to the survivor that startled her, or if that survivor is dead
