Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser

The Marathon-class heavy cruiser is a heavy capital ship classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to frontline combat duty alongside other cruisers like the Halcyon (shown above for comparison).

History
As time went on and the Halcyon cruiser proved to be a mostly fruitless investment, the UNSC needed a new, more economical and effective standard cruiser. Thus came the Marathon. Along with her decent firepower of MACs and Archer missiles, her modern reactors provide more than enough power, making her fast as well as maneuverable, and cheaper to build than the Halcyon. However, when the Covenant attacked, it was discovered that these valuable cruisers, while more capable of destroying Covenant ships, could not handle very much damage from the enemy's plasma weaponry.

Tactics
Marathons perform best when used alongside other cruisers, use their firepower to cover the other ships of the fleet while tougher ships like Halcyon cruisers absorb most of the damage.

To use this ship: This ship has a modest interior with a pilot seat and control chairs to control frigates, fighters, and destroyers. It can also be set to patrol with its remote control block.
