Explore the most mysterious location known on Mars: Cydonia–home to numerous pyramids and the famous “Face of Mars.” Are these ancient objects simply wind scarred rocks, or will secrets be revealed? The only way to know for sure, is to go there. Storms have uncovered a mystery in the South West.

Updated the map, and that has appeared to fix whatever bug was making this map not show up in Sol 0 when subscribed.

I subscribed to your map but it did not show up in my list of workshop maps. I have subscribed to other maps and they showed up and I have played some. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing but that didn't work. I had a friend subscribe but it didn't show up in his list either.

Your map sounds interesting and I am looking forward to playing it if I can.

This new map makes use of many new brushes, textures and hand sculpted monuments sure to please your Mars-loving eyeballs. Great care has gone into recreating the actual location based on NASA imagery.

I recommend using the “Standard Minerals” for this map and not the random mineral generator as many ancient secrets are revealed beneath the surface, should you dare to explore.

How I made this:
The pyramids were each done with separate brushes made in Photoshop and then saved into the “Brushes” folder. The “Face of Mars” was a single brush as well that I fixed up by sculpting in the map builder. The “SECRET” thing in the South West was hand painted in Photoshop, saved as a PNG in the “MapTextures” folder and then painted onto the surface–the topography height(3D) of the secret thing was painted by hand in the map editor, which worked better than a custom brush I had created for it's height map.
