Forerunner Shield World Sentinel (Shields)

The Shield World Sentinel is a small automated construct/drone utilized by the Forerunners. First sighted at the planet Onyx by the UNSC, it's main function is to defend Forerunner Shield World structures from intruders.

The Shield Sentinel was more of a dedicated war machine than her Ring world cousin. Each Sentinel has four times the shielding of the Ring Sentinel. However, the Shield Sentinel's greatest strength is the ability to link up with other Shield Sentinels to combine their shielding and firepower. At Onyx, using this tactic they quickly destroyed some of the Covenant's more powerful warships. It was then discovered that Onyx was no natural planet, but a shield world left by the Forerunners, and just beneath the surface of the planet was millions of these constructs.

The Shield World Sentinel is able to perform both in atmosphere and in space, although is slower in a planet's atmosphere. Difficult to bring down with small arms fire but is vulnerable to impacts with large objects and high explosives.
