Imperial Landing Craft (Star Wars)

Another build that started as a total whim and ended up taking over my life. Preeettty happy with the way it turned out though.

Built and tested in Dx11, capable of planetary escape and landing (you were right about the blast doors Blinky). Survival ready.

Small Ships Gone Large tend to be inherently quirky, but I've put a lot of time into testing this and I think I have most of the bugs ironed out. Still, if you run into something that Ain't Right please let me know in the comments so's I can fix it.

Stuff you should know:

REGARDING MODS

This is a world save, which means that all the mods will be downloaded for you automatically when you load it up. The list on the right is just for reference, and I left off a couple superfluous ones (like the stormtrooper) that aren't required to keep the ship in working order.

If you aren't one for modded builds, take a gander at Purrfect-Blinky's workshop (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/id/PurrfectSpaceIndustries/myworkshopfiles/). He's putting out vanilla Star-Wars stuff like a madman.

REGARDING LIFE SUPPORT

The ship is airtight, but there's no airlock proper. You can pressurize/depressurize the whole cabin from the button panels next to the boarding ramps. The doors to the rear can be used to EVA without losing oxygen.

REGARDING BOARDING RAMPS

These are opened and closed using a totally needlessly complicated set-up involving the Move-It script (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=461120531) and timer blocks: long story short, use the buttons provided, not the terminal, to operate. Seriously.

REGARDING LANDING

There's two sets of landing gear, one is maglocks (#7 on toolbar) and... well... lock. The other is retractable skids and don't. The skids are for landing in gravity, the maglocks are for docking in zero grav.

Because the wings are held in place with a different set of landing gear, I suggest never using the "P" key ever. Everything you need is in the toolbar.

There's also a few mass blocks you can use to keep you in place in artificial grav, but honestly I never ended up taking advantage of them.

I suggest turning off both the maneuvering thrusters (#4) and the landing thrusters (#5) to help the ship settle naturally once you've touched down.

REGARDING THE WINGS

Timer blocks to the rescue once again. Just hit #9 and the wings will raise or lower respectively, then lock themselves in place. Remember, stay away from P.
