Petro-Canada is a popular chain of Canadian gas stations, which was founded as a Crown Corporation by the Government of Canada in 1975. In 1991 the government began to sell off most of its shares in the company. Petro-Canada is now part of Suncor Energy, one of the largest energy corporations in Canada.
